Two Scanners - Stereo Feed. Left feed is BC796D digital scanner monitoring mostly the State of Colorado Digital Trunked Radio System (DTRS). Garfield County encrypts all of the field units for Law Enforcement. You will hear ugly sounding digital noise that is the encrypted traffic. Dispatch is usually in the clear though can be encrypted at times. The Right feed is a conventional VHF/UHF Scanner. The right channel also monitors two of the Fire Departments VHF channels that are patched to the DTRS, and some of the encrypted traffic can be heard in the clear on these channels.
